CORCS / RMEC Black Hills Sprint Enduro

Event Pays Both CORCS and RMEC Points

Presented By Slavens Racing

Directions: I-25 Exit 30, Aguilar Head South on West Side Frontage Rd. CR 63.1 for 1.3 Miles; Head East on CR 52 2.5 Miles. There is an underpass with 13.6” clearance. If your camper is taller than that, you can exit at 27 and head back north to CR52.

Date: Sat. Apr. 20 Youth and Beginner Scrambles, Sun. Apr. 21 Sprint Enduro

Gate: $10 per person, $5 10 yrs and under. Saturday only spectators and racers are free. General liability release must be signed by all for entry.

Camping: Gates open 12pm Friday. Must camp in designated camp area, no fires, generators off at 10pm. Please pack out your trash and that of your neighbor if necessary.  Please park tightly and don’t stray from approved camping/parking area. You will be asked to move.

Pits: The camping/pits/starting/finishing are all contained in a single area. Everything is easily accessible by foot. This property is part of a working ranch in a dry part of the state. Every blade of grass is important to these ranchers. All motorized vehicles are limited to use in the pit area for transportation in the pit area or travel to/from the race course. Please, no pit racing or unnecessary riding. Pit Speed limit is 10mph, helmet required. Don’t make us sic Tina on ya! For course viewing, MTB’s, Emtb’s and foot only. Please leave the quads and SXS’s at home, there is no place to use them.  It has taken us five years to have this property owner agree to host us. Please help us leave a clean, undamaged property behind so we can return.

Concessions: There will be a food truck with hand pre-prepared sandwiches and B-fast burritos as well as drinks and snacks both days

Check In: All riders must check in to program transponder. A Moto Tally transponder is required, it is $10 if you need to purchase. CORCS members will use their assigned race number, RMEC row holders will use their assigned row number, all others will be supplied a number. Non-member riders are due a one-day membership fee of $15 at check in which includes numbers and transponder.

Minors must bring, or have a notarized release signed by both parents on file. We do have the ability to notarize on-site, but it helps us keep the line moving if you come prepared. The form is available on the membership page of the website.

Crossover Classes: If you ride both CORCS and RMEC for points, but different classes, you need to sign up for your CORCS class at this event. Ex. Would be, you ride 40+ in CORCS, but 45+ in RMEC (which there is no CORCS class). There will be a sign in sheet at check in for your class change to RMEC. You must be a member in that class with RMEC. After CORCS results are posted, RMEC will receive results with those class changes. You MUST declare your RMEC class change before your event begins. There will be no results adjustments for anybody who “forgot or didn’t know”.

Race Procedure: Riders will be grouped by class in the staging area, then funneled individually to the start gate where they will leave in 15 sec. increments, live engine. Upon completion of the riders first test, they will proceed to the start of the next test and repeat. Riders will have time between tests to return to their pits for hydration or repairs. Riders can start at their convenience after their first test, but tests must be done sequentially. You may not do the same test back to back.  A test/time schedule will be posted on site. The course will close exactly three hours after the first rider starts each event, should be 11:30 and 3:30 or adjusted if there is a delay. It is plenty of time to get everyone through.

Course: The event consists of two tests, Test A is approx. 3 mi. in length and is primarily single-track. Test B is Approx. 5 mi in length and is a combination of fast grassy plains and single-track. A/B riders will complete each test four times, C riders will complete each test three times. The course may be previewed by foot or MTB after 2 pm on Saturday.

Rider Etiquette: The nature of this event is racing against the clock. If a rider comes up behind you, let them by as soon as it is safe to do so. If they have caught you from behind, they are already ahead of you.

Goods: CORCS Series T’s and Hoodies are in and available on-site for $20 and $30

FCA Kids Camp: We have started a scholarship program to help kids get to the week long FCA moto camp. We’re accepting donations, and in return for any donation, we’ve got a nifty decal for ya to show you care.

Overall Etiquette: We nearly lost the use of the property due to litter from last year. This property is a cow pasture, and it’s critical we don’t leave behind anything cows may eat, particularly tear offs. So, please clean up all around you before leaving, don’t smoke outside, and tear offs will not be allowed on the course. We will be watching on the starts and you will be asked to remove them should you have them on.

Speed limit on the main dirt roads coming in and out is 25mph. Please be courteous and don’t create dust and safety issues, and finally, RV water dumping on road exiting the property is a big NO. Somebody did it right in front of the only house along the way and nearly cost us the event. Please be respectful and an excellent guest. Special thanks to all our sponsors and volunteers!
